Firetrace is a $40M revenue business that designs and assembles fire suppression systems from a 50,000 sq. ft. HQ facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. Currently the business employs 100 people; all functions are based in Scottdale, except for the sales team, which is spread throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, India, Africa and Southeast Asia. The growth of the business has enhanced the need for a strong Controller to join the organization and influence implementation of best practices that drive organizational performance. As the Controller at Firetrace, you will oversee all accounting, financial reposting, analysis, credit management and payroll processing activities, as well as the development of the Accounting team. With tremendous visibility to senior management, you will have the ability to drive business decisions and observe your impact on growth. Primary Objectives:
Provide comprehensive, timely and accurate financial reporting to management
Evaluate, analyze and report appropriate metrics and KPIs to support business decisions
Leverage the Company’s ERP system and supplementary tools by analyzing business need and implementing solutions
Ensure the integrity of the financial reporting by developing and maintaining a robust internal control environment
Maximize the productivity of the Accounting Department by training and developing a world class team
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of day-to-day accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, payroll, and fixed assets
Supervise credit control by evaluating creditworthiness of new and existing customers
Implement processes to improve collections/DSO
Supervise the processing of bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Analyze payable and inventory metrics relative to targets, driving improved decision making
Oversee ongoing capitalization and maintenance of fixed asset module/database
Ensure adherence to IFRS and established internal controls as directed by holding company
Utilize system tools to accurately and efficiently report financial and operational results; design KPIs and dashboard tools to facilitate business decisions, maximizing company performance
Work cross-functionally to identify, document and execute business process improvements resulting in cost savings, efficiency and/or improved control
Coordinate external and internal audits
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (required)
CPA or MBA (preferred)
Minimum of seven (7+) years of progressive financial experience, with a minimum of three (3+) years supervisory
Strong understanding of accounting for inventory in a manufacturing environment
Ability to effectively manage a team, with an emphasis on developing talent and maximizing team performance
Strong data management and ERP system experience, Great Plains preferred
Demonstrated ability to critically analyze data and business processes, offer recommendations and execute implementation
Strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
