Job Description
Firetrace is a $40M revenue business that designs and assembles fire suppression systems in our 50,000 sq. ft. HQ facility in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Currently the business employs 100 people; all functions are based in Scottdale, except for the sales team, which is spread throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, India, Africa and Southeast Asia.
Firetrace has been part of Halma plc (LSE: HLMA) since 2015 and has ambitious growth plans.  The growth of the business has enhanced the need for a strong Process Engineer to join the organization and influence implementation of best practices that drive organizational performance.
As the Process Engineer at Firetrace, you will develop and oversee manufacturing processes and improve manufacturing efficiency.  Working together with Engineering and members of the Production team, you will have a pivotal role to:  
  • Develop and write work instructions and required quality documentation (production travelers, hour by hour charts, etc.) for production
  • Ensure that the manufacturing/ production process continue to meet international and certification standards- AS9100, ISO, FM, UL, CE, LPCB
  • Liaison with Engineering, Production and Quality to support on time delivery, production efficiency and no defects of product. 
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Assures product and process quality by designing assembly and testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing process capability
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by research of industry best practices; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators
  • Support Training and Continuous Improvement Departments by facilitating kaizen events and training sessions as required.  
 
Qualifications that will help you to be successful in this role include:
  • Expertise in all aspects of quality compliance and documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately diagnose a problem, assess options and make recommendations
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to organize and complete on time all project tasks, goals, timelines
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and be proactive on tasks and project handling
  • Ability to be part of a team as well as work independently
  • 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
