HUB Engineering Digital Transformation Lead

As part of the North American Engineering team, you will be responsible for driving sustainable and transformational change across multiple transformers factories & Eng teams, focused on digital transformation in Engineering and implementing PLM.

You will work with our transformer factories in North America, with a wide variety of technologies and equipment, coordinating digitalization, Implementing PLM in Engineering, PLM for supplier coordination of BOM Drawings, Documentation, Engineering Improvements, Eng Quality Procedures, analysis programs and projects.  

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as the North American Engineering digitalization/PLM lead for distribution transformers (HUB NAM). This includes definition, training and implementation of digitalization tools including PLM, PTC for the entire transformer business.

  • Set requirements and drive implementation of our common Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in all NAM transformer factories. Focus on standardization effort (Work Centers, Routings) to allow company wide data analysis.

  • Improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of our distribution transformer factories Engineering processes through integration and automation, IoT solutions, AI, cloud and advanced analytics.

  • Lead transformation of Engineering BOM, Engineering change management processes, interacting with local engineering and other functional teams to put PLM best-practices in place, replacing or upgrading older approaches.

  • Lead transformation of supplier interactions through PLM and improve records and communications.

  • Provide expert support to our factories for implementation, training, and process improvement activities.

  • Conduct factory assessments and drive implementation of appropriate digitalization and analysis tools.

  • Develop and update documentations training material and user manuals related to digitalization tools deployed in the transformer factories.

  • Drive cooperation with innovation team to continuously improve existing and to introduce new systems in a systematic manner.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 5 or more years of experience in Engineering digitalization and PLM Solutions

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • Experience with Windchill (PLM), Creo (CAD), and SAP (ERP).

  • Skills in areas such as Engineering & manufacturing digitalization, automation and process analysis.

  • Strong analytical and systemic problem-solving skills with clear passion to develop and drive changes.

  • Proven leadership skills in areas of training and education.

  • Multi-site experience, working with different regions and cultures.

  • Fluent written and spoken English matched with excellent communication skills.

  • Approx 25-50% travel in North America.
