Job Description
Reports To:  America’s Sales Manager          
Location:  North/Central/South America      
 
Job Summary
 
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for increasing sales within a defined geography.  This increase comes in two forms; through expanding territory coverage—actively opening new distributors specifically those selling into strategically targeted industries, and through territory penetration—gaining share of wallet from existing distributors. The RSM position is a proactive role driving the relationship between Firetrace, its’ distributors and its’ end users.  Time use is divided evenly, 50% spent developing strategic business and 50% spent maintaining existing accounts.
 
Relationships & Roles:
 
  • Works directly with prospects and customers; identifying, opening, penetrating, training, etc.
  • Works directly with the ASM to achieve sales plans and assigned KPI’s.
  • Works directly with assigned Customer Service Specialist to execute PO’s and customer interfaces.
  • Works directly with engineering to support sales efforts.
  • Works directly with marketing department to execute targeted strategies and campaigns.
 
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
  • Exceed order intake and revenue targets as assigned by the ASM.
  • Execute a territory coverage/penetration plan that provides a comprehensive network of industry specific distribution to represent Firetrace products to industry end users.
  • Call on significant end-user opportunities both jointly with distribution and alone, including OEM’s, engineers, and influencers. 
  • Seek out new and innovative ways to address customer’s needs, including providing and organizing technical training to enable distributors a large degree of technical independence.
  • Provide administrative input, ie intake and sales projections, to ASM as requested.
  • Record and report sales call activity, and input pipeline activity into CRM, all to understand and prioritize opportunities.
  • Reactivate medium to large dormant accounts.
  • Join all sales meetings, participate in weekly review calls with ASM.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards always.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications (skills and experience):
  1. A minimum of 2 years of college and/or 5 years of sales or business development experience.
  2. Proven track record of strategically evaluating then proactively opening new markets in order to achieve sales targets.
  3. Strong sense of urgency, high level of emotional intelligence.
  4. Aptitude for mechanical and electrical functions.
  5. Experience with distributor sales model. 
  6. High level of alignment with company values of excellence, innovation, challenge, respect and team.
  7. A home office.
  8. Available for significant travel, as needed.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Solid computer skills including email etiquette and experience with Word and Excel
  11. Experience with fire protection systems is beneficial but not required.
