Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. The Operations Program Manager Intern is responsible for all activities related to manufacturing operations in supplier's factories from build plan, line setup, quality control, to product delivery on schedule and on budget, including day to day communication and management of the manufacturing partners. This person has a business orientation and is responsible for working with internal engineering team and external manufacturing partners on improving production yield to lower our manufacturing costs.
As an Operations Program Manager Intern you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to create and design innovative products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and manufacturing. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
Job Requirements: * Working towards a bachelor's degree with a graduation date between December 2018-June 2019 * Willingness to work overtime both in peak season and as needed * Willingness to relocate to Seattle, WA * Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship Program Quick Facts & Locations: * The position will be located at Amazon Headquarters in Seattle, Washington * Term: 10 weeks during the summer of 2018 * Benefits: Competitive Salary, Relocation and Housing Assistance * Opportunity: An offer for full time employment may be given after the internship Key Responsibilities: * Drive Standard Work and Continuous Improvement through an intern project * Liaison between manufacturing factory and team in Seattle monitoring, managing and driving the factory to assure goals / schedule is being met * Communicate build plan and verify ready-to-build from both materials and factory manpower perspectives * Assist in driving solutions to reduce and eliminate any issues preventing meeting product delivery schedule, including assisting in sourcing materials and training factory staffs as required * Help with report generation and distribution
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Currently working towards a bachelor's degree with a graduation date between December 2018 and June 2019
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
